Giant Eagle Grocery Deals 10/28-11/4

Until I started couponing this summer, I never shopped at Giant Eagle, a local "high-end" grocery store, because of their outrageous everyday prices. However, due to their "Double Coupon" policy of doubling coupons up to $.99, it has started becoming a place I shop when certain sales are going on. This week there are some steals! Remember, you do not have to buy the quantities listed in a sale to get the individual unit price (ex. 10/$10 = $1 each, even if you only buy 3) Here are a few of them:

Betty Crocker Boxed Muffin Mix: 2/$4
- Use a $.50/1 coupon from here or here
- and use $.50/1 eOffer from Giant Eagle (only applies to one box)
*Giant Eagle is running a deal where if you buy 4 boxes of muffin mix, cookie mix, Gold Medal All-Purpose flour, or Betty Crocker icing in one purchase, you can get a Wilton 9x13 cake pan or cookie sheet for FREE! So print four coupons (two from each site), spend $3.50 total, and get 4 boxes of the items of your choice, plus a free pan! Sweet!)
FINAL PRICE: 1st box is $.50, then $1 each after that, plus free cake pan/cookie sheet if you buy 4

Hamburger Helper: 10/$10
- use $.75/3 from here or here
FINAL PRICE: $.50 each

Betty Crocker Boxed Potatoes: 10/$10
- use $.50/2 from here
FINAL PRICE: $.50 each

Campbells Select Harvest Soup: 10/$10
- use $1/2 from here or here
FINAL: $.50 each

Tampax Pearl 18-20ct.: $4.39
- use $2/1 from Giant Eagle eOffer (it gets loaded onto your Giant Eagle Advantage card and automatically is deducted when you check out)
- use $2/1 coupon from the 9/26 P&G Sampler
FINAL PRICE: $.39

Ok, those are just a few of the deals I stocked up on this week. Do you see any other good deals with coupon match-ups?

Shutterfly Photo Cards: 50 Free for Bloggers!!!

*Update: To clarify, Shutterfly is offering EVERY blogger the opportunity to earn 50 free Christmas cards. All you have to do is sign up, then follow their directions to write a blog of Shutterfly's holiday cards (the reason I wrote the following blog). After you send Shutterfly the link to your blog for them to verify, they will send you a promo code to use to redeem 50 free Christmas cards before December 31, 2010 (they say it takes 24-48 hours to receive the confirmation code). Taxes and Shipping still apply, which should be around $7.99.

Over the summer I ordered several Birthday Cards from Shutterfly with an adorable picture of Levi on the front, and friends & family have loved them. Now I look forward to earning personalized Christmas cards through Shutterfly with pictures of our year in review. My favorite card boldly proclaims, "Rejoice, the Lord is King" across the front, and a very merry "Merry Christmas" on the inside. One of my favorite features about Shutterfly's cards is that not only do you have the option of multiple pictures on the front, you also can choose to have pictures on the inside, along with personalized text.

Shutterfly is offering a promotion to bloggers for 50 free Christmas cards if they write a short blog about Shutterfly cards (which is why I'm sharing my experience with you). So my fellow blogger friends, which Shutterfly Christmas card is your favorite?

Mail Freebie: Nescafe Taster's Choice Sample Pack

Nescafe is offering a free sample of their "Taster's Choice" instant coffee that comes in 6 different flavors... this sample pack comes with all six flavors... So not only do you get 6 cups of coffee-on-the-go with this freebie, you can also sign up your husband, roommate, or someone else in your household, because this freebie is allowed for up to two people per household. I already requested it for Nathan and I both, and we got them last week in the mail! Checking my mailbox is becoming quite exciting... It's like Christmas at least once a week!

Land's End shoes for $9.99 shipped!

I ordered these shoes from Land's End Overstocks a few weeks ago, and have had a lot of fun wearing them... For any of you who know me well, you know I love wearing flip-flops and sandals. My husband would love for me to wear close-toed shoes more often, especially for outdoor activities. These shoes have been the perfect compromise. Light and airy like flip-flops, but supportive and encased like tennis shoes. They come in several colors, but the color with the most available sizes are the pink. Here's how you can get them for $9.99 shipped:

- Click on "Shoes and Boots" in the left-hand column.
- Find the "Women's Medium Toe Strap Mary Jane Trekker Shoes", clearanced for $9.99.
- When checking out, use Promo Code: OCT28 and Pin: 5922 to receive free shipping on your order (no minimum purchase required).

This free-shipping offer is good on any purchase, so look around at some of the other Overstock items! Coats, hats, shirts, shoes, swimsuits... Everything for the whole family!

*If you've never ordered from LandsEnd before, I highly recommend them, and their quality of products. Everything I have brought from them has lasted for several years (or more), and I always order from their Overstocks section because of the greatly reduced prices. I have bought swimsuits, shoes, shirts, winter accessories, a jacket... And loved every single one of them. If something doesn't fit correctly, call them and they will send you the correct size immediately, before you even return the original (which I recommend doing if it was an Overstock item because if you wait, they might not have it still). You can save yourself the return postage fee by returning anything you have to your local Sears store, and your credit card will be credited back almost immediately. I love the fast, friendly customer service, and the ease of returning something if I had to! (I've actually ordered several things before, just to try on them to see which one I wanted, kept the one, and returned the rest since I can just drop into Sears to do it!)

1 lb. of Fall Flavored Coffee for $2.95 shipped!!!

Boca Java is still offering their Fall Flavor Duo for $12.95. I ordered it a few weeks ago when they were offering a special, and I absolutely have loved it! If you're not a coffee lover, they also have chai teas, cocoa, tea, etc... all of which you could get for really cheap, or even FREE! Or get the Fall Flavor Duo as a frugal gift for someone! Here's how you can get 1lb (each bag is 8oz) for $2.95 shipped:

- Automatically get $10 off your first purchase by sending me the email address you would use to checkout with. I will send you a referral from Boca Java, which is what will give you the $10 credit*.
- After receiving your email from Boca Java, go to Boca Java and create an account (just uncheck the box if you don't want emails from them) using the email address you gave me.
- Then add the Fall Flavor Duo @ $12.95 (or something else in the $10-$13 range, like tea or chai, if you don't like coffee) to your cart.
- Start the Check Out process...
- When you get to the Review Your Order page, you should see the $10 discount taken off under Order Summary. Your total then will be around $10.90.
- To get FREE SHIPPING (-$7.95), enter the code "NCD" into the gray box that says "Enter promotions, gift cards, and e-certificates here". This should remove the shipping (it will show up "shipping discount" and minus $7.95) --- update: when checking out, if it's only allowing you to "place order", and doesn't give an option to enter a promo code, you may have to try several times. It has worked for several people, but not for one person. Not sure why.
- Your new order total should be $2.95. This offer is good through Saturday, October 30th!

Last time I ordered this, I ordered it for me, and Nate. So now I have some yummy coffee in my freezer to pull out in a few weeks! Enjoy your treat as the days get cooler, the leaves are changing, and winter sets in!

*Boca Java has a "refer a friend" program that offers $10 to every friend a customer refers, and then when they make their first purchase, the original customer will receive a $10 credit as well. So if you do choose to do this deal, I wanted to let you know I'll be receiving a $10 credit, too. If you stay on their email list, you'll receive promo codes in the future, which you can then pass on to friends you refer, and earn some extra credit through your friends. Just wanted to let y'all know! As a daughter of God, I want to live a life of integrity, especially as I'm learning to live more frugally!

Wal-Mart Deal: Kraft Shredded Cheese for $.69 a bag!!!

For local friends, you can get Kraft Shredded Cheese (8 oz. bags) at Wal-Mart for $.69 if you have your IGA weekly ad for Sept.30th-October 6th. Bags of Kraft shredded or cheese chunks are advertised for $1.69 each. Here's how:

Print the Kraft coupon for $5/5 specific Kraft products.
- Bring your IGA weekly ad with you to Wal-Mart.
- Buy 5 bags of cheese (look for ones that are marked "20% more" to make the deal even sweeter!)
- When checking out, have the cashier price-match the cheese at $1.69.
- Apply $5/5 coupon!

I have used three of these now at Wal-Mart (since cheese freezes well), this week buying 10 packs of cheese, normally $20... for $6.90. Have fun! (even if you don't have the IGA weekly ad still, using this coupon you can still get bags of cheese for $1 each, since the normal price at Wal-Mart is $2 a bag!)

Swagbucks: How does it work?

I have mentioned several times about something called "Swagbucks". I was introduced to it through a friend on Facebook, and decided to give it a whirl. If you haven't heard of it before, or you've seen it mentioned on different sites, you might be confused about what it is. It's a free program you sign up for, and then earn "swagbucks" in various ways. The most common way is when you use their free search engine and are randomly awarded "swagbucks". You then redeem your swagbucks at "The Swag Store", my favorite items being the $5 Amazon gift cards, which are only 450 swagbucks each. Since I started using Swagbucks at the beginning of July, I have earned enough swagbucks to redeem for almost $50 worth of Amazon cards.

So how do you earn points? First, you have to sign-up. Then....
  • Make the Swagbucks free search engine your homepage, and use it for all your daily searches. I win swagbucks for things as basic as "facebook", "gmail", "Money Saving Mom", and "Frugal Girls", which are all sites that I go to on a daily basis anyway. You don't win on every search, but I easily win 20-30 swagbucks a day this way.
  • Refer swagbucks to your friends, family, and co-workers, and when they sign up, you earn extra points. (For example, if you click on any of the links in this blog to sign-up, I will earn some extra swagbucks. Then you get your friends to sign up under you, and you get extra swagbucks...)
  • Catch "freebies", which are Swagbucks codes posted on their blog, Facebook, or tool bar.
  • Participate in the daily poll or a survey, and you win extra points.
Those are the basic ways to earn swagbucks. Once you're ready to redeem your points, you can visit what they call "The Swag Store" to see all available prizes. Gift cards are actually "e-cards", so they will be posted to your account, not physically mailed to you. I have already typed in my e-cards to my amazon account, so I now have a positive balance in my account that will be good towards my next purchase! This will be great with Christmas right around the corner, as well as a growing baby boy who keeps me on my toes finding new ideas for foods, toys, clothes, and books! (and if you haven't signed up for "Amazon Mom" yet, you need to! You get 3 free months of Amazon Prime, which means free shipping on all Amazon orders!)

If you have any more questions, let me know!

FREE "Amazon Mom" Prime Membership for 3 months

Amazon is offering a FREE Prime Membership called "Amazon Mom" to all caregivers (not just moms). Once you've signed up, you can also add another member to the account, so I added my husband.

I am excited about this freebie, because I've been earning Amazon gift cards through Swagbucks, and I've earned almost $50 since the beginning of July. I've found a few things I would love to order, but I was waiting until I had $25 to qualify for their free shipping. Now I don't have to wait! And this will take me right until the beginning of December, so I might be able to order some Christmas gifts with free shipping, too!

Thanks, Money Saving Mom!

Thrift Store Trip

Today I visited a local thrift store (the Village Discount Outlet), which is by far the largest thrift store/resale shop that I have ever seen. Over half my wardrobe probably comes from there, as well as probably almost all of my son's. In the last two weeks, along with cutting his 3rd tooth, Levi has taken a growth spurt. Quite a few of his one-piece rompers and onesies are having a hard time snapping, without me pulling and tugging and stretching them first. And for a little boy trying to master the art of crawling, having a tight outfit on isn't his favorite thing. So it was definitely time to visit The Village again.

And while they didn't have very many boy onesies or cotton sleepers for this next size, I used my ever-growing imagination, and found two-piece pajama sets, pajama tops that can go with cotton pants we already have, long sleeve shirts (instead of long-sleeve onesies) to go with a couple pairs of jeans I got from a lady earlier this week (who has a son just a few stages ahead of Levi), and some lightweight fleece sleepers as the nights (hopefully) start to get cooler.

The grand total? $16. Yep, that's right. 5 fleece sleepers, 1 pajama set, 6 longsleeves, 3 onesies, 2 short sleeves, and 1 polo romper, which makes 18 pieces of boy's clothing, and the total was $16. How is that possible? I like to go on Thursdays, because at the Village, not only are things marked decently low anyway, every week they change "half-price" tag colors, and for some weird reason they change the colors for the "week" on Thursdays. This week anything with blue or green tags were half-off. So I looked exclusively for those colors.

Crawling, walking, cool weather, and playing outdoors in the fall, here we come!
